    • Government AffairsIn the recent years the Hydraulic Institute has become a strong leader with US government affairs. HI provides our members with resources and updates of government regulations in the pump industry. The Advocacy work done by HI and its members is based on HI’s Mission to: Advance the Pump Manufacturing Industry in North America. The U.S. Pump Industry is estimated to include 450+ manufacturers of various sizes operating in 38 states. U.S. pump sales are estimated at over $6 Billion annually and involve motorized pumps used in these industries:

      • Water / Wastewater
      • Petroleum Refineries
      • Oil and Gas Production
      • Building Services
      • Power Generation
      • Chemicals

      HI’s Advocacy activities include:

      • Annual legislative visits where a HI Delegation meets with Legislators on behalf of HI
      • Support of HI member advocacy efforts to maintain effective relationships with their legislators;
      • Participation in industry coalitions; lobbying for and against legislation, administrative policies and regulations that impact manufacturers of pump and pump system equipment.
