Hidden
to the general public, pumps are constantly at work behind the scenes:
providing clean water, heating and cooling; generating energy and ensuring we
can continue to manufacture and produce goods.
While commercial and industrial pumping systems can account for over 25%
of electricity use in North America, the Hydraulic Institute
(HI)
and its members are working hard to reduce that load. The ultimate goal: lower the energy required,
increase the system reliability and add to the end-user’s - and general
public’s - bottom line.
To
coincide with its upcoming 100th Anniversary, HI will host the 2017 Pump Industry Excellence Awards to
recognize organizations that share that goal. From safeguarding the health and vibrancy of
water resources, to demonstrating a commitment to technological progress and
innovation, to ensuring an energy efficient future in North America, HI will be
recognizing those organizations who are committed to excellence and a
sustainable future. Nominations will be judged
on their overall impact as measured by reliability, efficiency, cost savings
and public service. Special
consideration will be given for implementing new technologies, utilizing new
methods and advancing new processes.
“We wanted to do our
part to recognize those truly outstanding organizations that have made serious
commitments to achieving excellence through pump and system optimization”, said
Michael Michaud, HI’s Executive Director. “These organizations all know the
importance of pumping systems to their processes and that if we are going to
make real advancements in this area, we need to work together. By recognizing others who are committed to
energy efficiency, sustainability and technical innovation we hope to raise the
awareness of our industry’s significant contributions as well.”
The
awards are made possible through the sponsorship of HI member companies. There are three awards categories. Organizations, institutions, and companies may
be nominated in all categories that apply.

and the winners will be announced at the Centennial Celebration Gala on March
10, 2017 at the JW Marriott Grande Lakes in Orlando, Florida.
